Our Family

Welcome to Welcome Home Pet Services, College Stations premier pet care provider.  My name is Kim Lardon.  My  family and I moved to College Station from Austin two years ago when my husband, Brad accepted a golf professional job at one of Bryan’s local country clubs.  We quickly changed our jerseys to maroon and have loved every minute of learning the AGGIELAND TRADITIONS!

I graduated from Texas Christian University in 1984 and Brad graduated from Rice University in 1988.  We have four children, Margot 20, Will 19, Nicklaus 14 and Lily 6.
From the very beginning of our relationship we had animals and we both traveled almost full time for our jobs. We love our pets dearly and tried both the kennel care and the “Good friend and neighbor care”.  We and our pets were most satisfied with a “home pet sitting service”.  We knew our pets were being taken care of both reliably and responsibly.  We all were happy.

Like most people that have chosen an animal related profession, I grew up with animals and lots of them.  Our home was never without a furry friend to greet you. All of our pets were considered a members of the family.  We had them all, dogs both big and small, cats, hamsters, gerbils, horses and even a baby gofer I rescued from our dachshund, Heidi.  We always had animals.

On my 43rd birthday I founded Giant Paw Rescue.  A non-profit dog rescue that specialized in rescuing and placing our GIANT BREED  DOGS, (Saint Bernards, Mastiffs, Newfoundlands, Great Pyrenees, and Great Danes), in their forever homes.  It was by far one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.  Each member of my family became involved in some way and we all shared a special bond with the animals we removed from shelters and other less fortunate situations.  You can read about some of these animals still on my website, www.giantpawrescue.com .  While I am no longer formally taking animals into my home and fostering them, I am still doing what I can with various rescue groups and shelters to help place homeless animals in need.

In 2009 Brad and I decided it was time for me to begin working with animals again, only this time in the form of Pet Sitting.  Our service area is College Station and I look forward to meeting you, your family, and especially the members of your pet family soon!
